" MAGIC CARPET RIDE" 

"The Magic Carpet Ride" was licensed by Steppenwolf INC. In March 2010 John Kay upon the request of Glen Bui granted Glen Bui and Goldy McJohn a license to perform under the Steppenwolf Trademark.... MCR is now independent and touring. 

"MAGIC CARPET RIDE"  No longer features Goldy McJohn and has an ALLSTAR LINEUP featuring Glen Bui  formerly of Steppenwolf Productions INC SPI/MCR. The band is performing Steppenwolfs Greatest Hits in a power packed 60 minute concert.

STEPPENWOLF launched into music superstardom in the 60's with the song Born To Be Wild gaining worldwide acclaim and millions of fans via the Oscar winning film, "EASY RIDER".  The MAGIC CARPET RIDE tour will be taking concert -goers back to those irreverent, passionate and musically groundbreaking days by performing the band's many hits, including "The Pusher," "Magic Carpet Ride" and all the other hits songs the band produced. Because of legal issues nobody has been allowed to actually tour calling the band Steppenwolf and variations of the band
have existed.

Bui states, "In these times of economic and political confusion and uncertainty, the public is desperately seeking a way to escape their reality, if even just for a few hours. In the 60's Steppenwolf defined an entire generation and now 40 years later, the music still has the ability to make a statement on a new world and a new generation. The Magic Carpet Ride tour will be just that - a wild ride back, and a brief escape from a very crazy world !
